Today is World Sleep Day, an annual event intended to be a celebration of sleep and a wakeup call on important issues related to sleep. Sleep is an important aspect of health – something we engage in for about one-third of our lives. And as a provider of 17 million nights’ sleep to guests in 83,993 beds at 268 hotels, Scandic is now sharing how just about everyone can enjoy a good night’s sleep.

During the winter 2018, Scandic held a sustainability hackathon to challenge the company’s 18,000 team members to come up with the next sustainability initiatives to implement across the organization. Participation was extremely high and more than 400 ideas were submitted. Two winning ideas have now been chosen, one within Environmental sustainability and one in Social sustainability.

From today, Scandic’s guests will be able to access a sleep program on the TVs at selected Scandic hotels. This has been made possible thanks to a partnership with the largest health club chain in the Nordic countries, SATS. The program is part of an expanded offering within health and wellness to help people have as great a guest experience as possible at Scandic.
