The world's largest hotel trade magazine, HOTELS, has identified Scandic's CEO, Frank Fiskers, as one of the 10 people who are hottest in the hotel industry right now.
The annual "What's Hot" list in the international HOTELS journal identifies those people and trends that are currently most relevant, in the areas of design, F&B and technology. Scandic's CEO Frank Fiskers is considered to be one of the 10 hottest people in the hotel industry, and is the only recognized representative from the Nordic region. The justification for this is that Frank Fiskers is a global leader who demonstrates an ability to transform his organization. During 2014, with Frank at the helm, Scandic has purchased Rica Hotels, which represents an addition of a further 72 hotels to Scandic's portfolio. Scandic is now the largest hotel chain in the Nordic area. This notwithstanding, Scandic is still planning to open an additional two or three hotels per year in selected Nordic countries, as well as continuing to expand their operations in Germany. Also during this year, Scandic has launched a sister chain, HTL, which has a focus on hotels in attractive locations at attractive prices, and where the plan is to expand to 20 hotels within the coming five years.
